...and my first trip to Nationwide Arena, to see the Blackhawks narrowly win yesterday vs. the Blue Jackets. who knows when I'll get to a game description/photos...but below is a screenshot from a highlight video. I'm glad the Hawks won, because if they hadn't, I'd have had to be happy with the warmup photos I got of Hjalmarsson and Sharp. (believe me, I would have been, but a win is great)
I would like to point out I've seen the Blackhawks 17 times in just over a year--and now, in 4 different cities (home and Pittsburgh, Boston, Columbus), and they've WON EVERY ONE. shouldn't I be waking up to a phone call from the Blackhawks office saying I get free tickets to all those home games I can't afford? or, failing that, getting a wakeup from a Blackhawks player? I'm off to look up recipes for lingonberry pancakes...er, actually, to have coffee and the Timbits (never tried these before) I brought back...as you can see below, you can find those in Columbus. I answered comments on the last few posts and I might try a new post while I watch the morning game vs. Red Wings today.

I was supposed to go to Columbus to watch the Sabres play there next month, but unfortunately, I cannot. :( Pretty bummed out because the seats are supposed to be really good but I'll just have to watch the game from my house.
That's too bad...I've actually considered that game. There are teams I'd like to see but either they were too expensive when Hawks played them or I couldn't go (like Sharks, Sabres) so I'm thinking of seeing them in a cheaper place like Columbus or St. Louis (and where I don't really care who wins).
I think you should try and go to that game in Columbus! Maybe you'll bring the Sabres good luck...considering for the past three games they've played against one another, the Sabres have lost pretty badly.
Well you have me beat - the Hawks have won the last seven games I've been to (all @ the UC), with the last losing effort I was in attendance a loss to the Wild on 1/19/09. Maybe I can convince my brother to give me his season tickets!
I've been thinking about traveling to some games - although it looks like the game in St Louis on 2/6 is sold out. Perhaps I'll try to catch some Ice Hogs games as I can use the excuse I'm visiting my family who lives in Rockford.
17-0 is a pretty impressive record. You'd think somebody would be giving you tickets. I've never seen what the big deal was about Tim Horton's. Maybe I just take them for granted since they're all over the place around here.
It's too bad all my buy one get one coupons are for weeknight games. I'd split the price of one good seat and go with you :(
