emergency update

eh, I'll delete this later. I've got all kinds of good stuff (rants! rants about sports media!) I'm working on, but I've been distracted by the fact that there's been NO RUNNING WATER in my apartment building since yesterday morning (so, 36 hours or so by now?) and the 8 hours of repairs today to the frozen pipes haven't been enough. I can't exaggerate how disgusted and discouraged I feel by this. if I want hot food or a restroom I've got to go to the McDonald's on my block. I guess I'll do that now before the big Blackhawks @ Sabres game starts...
