off to Pittsburgh

wow, well the only good thing I can say about how badly both the Bruins and Blackhawks lost tonight is, I don't feel the need to ramble about the games, and I'm in a hurry to get an overnight bus (actually, TWO) to Pittsburgh. still excited about the game tomorrow--my first time seeing the Hawks on the road, first time seeing the Penguins, first (only?) visit to Mellon Arena though I've seen it from outside. I will make no predictions about the game or what I'd like to see happen. hope to see Chicagoans there.

if anyone in Chicago is able to record it on WGN channel 9 (around 6-10 pm) that'd be great. ever since the digital TV switch I can no longer record anything that's more than four hours in the future, dammit. (until I get a digital TV and DVR)

I have very fond memories of Pittsburgh. I saw my first hockey game there and, due to a few wrong turns, I also saw my first drug deal there. Hopefully your trip will be just as fun (except for the part where the Hawks get stomped by the Pens ;) and much less seedy!

I saw my first hockey game and my first drug deal in my back yard one winter when my dad built a home made rink out there so he could lure neighborhood kids over and sell them dime bags. Then we'd challenge them to pick up games and win 145-3 because the other teams were too high to skate.

Ah, youth! How I miss it so.

I love Pittsburgh and had a couple baseball-related trips there. I didn't see anything too seedy before except for a run-down neighborhood, but I went there on purpose ("Hey, abandoned buildings! I need to photograph this!"). The trip went pretty well, posts to follow...

Ken, I do hope at this point that people are reading my blog for YOUR comments, thanks!
